When Thou Art Converted, Dec. 29, 2014

Hey Mamma,

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! It was great to see you all again as well. Thank you for all of your support and advice. It sounds like you had a great week!

This week wasn't our best in teaching, but we still had some awesome experiences.

On Saturday we had an awesome hand-off lesson with the Spanish missionaries. Elder Corry and I have been teaching this young hispanic mother, Julia, for a couple of lessons. But we decided that since she speaks and understands Spanish better, and that the rest of her family speaks Spanish better, it would be better for the Spanish missionaries to teach her. So Elder Montouto (from Uruguay) and I went to Julia's and had a lesson with her so that she could meet the Spanish missionaries.

It was amazing to see that Julia read that assigned chapter we gave her in the Book of Mormon. Elder Montouto then told his conversion story and got to know Julia a bit more. Though he mostly spoke in Spanish and I couldn't fully comprehend, it was incredible to still see the Spirit work in that room. The gift of tongues truly is to help edify and uplift others to follow the Savior's voice. It is always humbling to me to be a part of a Spanish lesson. I really wish I could speak Spanish!

Then Saturday night we had dinner with Jeff, Tanya, and Tallon Bratton. We have been teaching this family since July now and it has been an incredible experience. It is cool to see that Tanya is now very receptive as well!!! She even gave Elder Corry and I hugs when we entered their home haha (which is a little weird as a missionary). We then had a great lesson with them on forgiveness and showed them  a Mormon message about forgiveness. Jeff loves what we do as missionaries and he complemented us on how we carry ourselves! Soon they will desire to be a part of this for themselves. We are getting close!

On Sunday Elder Corry and I spoke in sacrament of the Pegasus ward. Speaking is always a learning experience for me, and I really enjoy it. I still get a bit nervous though! Hopefully we did ok. I talked a lot about building the kingdom of God by first building ourselves and being converted. My invitation to the congregation was to "When thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren" (Luke 22).

I love you guys and hope you have a great new year! Set goals and make plans to help people!!!

love,

Elder Lambert
