Seeing the Growth of Missionaries, Jan. 19, 2015

Hey Mamma and Family,

Another cousin married? good grief! They are going quick. And Adria isn't wasting no time hubby hunting haha. Tell Adria she needs to date my friend Austin Money. I think Austin just back in December from his mission and they would be a great couple. Maybe. Just a suggestion. And no, I have never met Elder Cassity.

But congrats on Kaili's marriage! And thanks for the family photo too. Noelle looks old! And Cam and Dad have some sweet hair.

We had another great teaching week. Bunch Gbondo is ready to go for baptism. Just waiting on his uncle to get work off. We taught Bunch the 10 commandments this week and the Law of Chastity, and he has it memorized and he wants to go teach with us! Haha I love the kid. He is going to make a great missionary.

This week I went on exchanges with a new missionary, Elder Kenner. We had some really cool experiences in my area. We street contacted a mother on the street, gave her a Book of Mormon and set up a return appointment to teach her more. Elder Kenner had never done that since he came out, and he was amazed. We then taught our investigator Paula Pyle, and grandma who is living with her son and his family that are members. Paula had been attending church for a couple of months with her son and his family, and she finally wanted to learn more. Elder Kenner and I taught the First Vision and showed her Moroni 10 and invited her to be baptized, and she said "YES!" I made Elder Kenner memorize and share the First Vision for this lesson and also invite Paula to be baptized, since he has never done that yet. He did a great job and he was so excited afterwards.

One of the greatest things I have loved to see on a mission is the growth of missionaries. It has been a blessing to be a leader to young missionaries because I get to help them obtain their "why" in missionary work; I help them catch a vision for who they want to become. I truly enjoy teaching and serving newer missionaries, because I want them to experience the joy of serving and teaching their fellow human beings. I don't want them to waste a second out here. I have learned and gained so much from a mission, and it all starts when you step outside and step out of your comfort zone. Approaching strangers and talking to them about God and about their beliefs feels second nature to me now! I enjoy it. I love hearing people's perspectives and seeing how they respond to us. We get to experience a small piece of what Jesus Christ experienced as he taught anywhere and everywhere, to anyone and everyone, no matter the setting or environment. He taught all that would listen, and he listened to all that he taught.

I love being a servant of Jesus Christ. I love this opportunity to serve complete strangers. I love seeing the growth of missionaries and the people I teach.

Thank you for all your support and love.

love,

Elder Lambert
