Priesthood Power, April 27, 2015

Hey Mamma,
Do you have any pictures with all the family that went to the Draper temple? I would love to see everyone's faces! And that is crazy to think Noelle went to her senior dinner dance. She is so old. And Mom, good luck on your lesson for Relief Society this week. Hit it out of the ball park!
This week was awesome. We had an expanded zone conference with multiple stakes on Tuesday night. And Thursday we had MLC and President Nattress dropped some wisdom that he learned from his mission president's training in Texas.
The highlight this week was definitely teaching Edwin and Kevyn and their kids. They are amazing. They are so committed to the gospel already! Wednesday night we had a lesson with them and they both accepted the baptism date of May 9th. They have great questions and they keep all of the commitments we leave. Kevyn has many verses in the Book of Mormon highlighted! It is so great to see a family so anxious and ready to change their lives around to serve Jesus Christ. They still need to be married before they can be baptized, but we will discuss that with them during our next lesson on Wednesday night.
Also this week we were excited to hear that Kylie and Kaylee, a 13 year old and 11 year old, have permission to be baptized! Their biological dad is apparently very anti-Mormon, but he is also physically and emotionally abusive and so he no longer has legal custody of the girls. Kylie and Kaylee have been wanting to be baptized for a long time, and it is finally working out. God has a time for everything. They are on date for May 9th, and I am excited to help them towards their goal!
This weekend we had another mini-missionary with us, Brother Trejo, who is a junior in high school. Brother Trejo was super funny because he was a little socially awkward, but his testimony was so sincere and pure. We had an amazing weekend with him. On Saturday we had 8 total teaching opportunities, which is a lot for one day! And on Sunday we had 11 investigators at church, which is very rare and we did not expect some of them to come.
The highlight with Brother Trejo was our lesson with Edwin and Kevyn on Saturday. We had a great lesson with them on faith, and later that night we went back to give Kevyn a Priesthood blessing because her foot was swollen and she was unable to walk.
As we gave her the blessing, afterwards she told us that she felt "Weird". She told us that during the blessing when I told her to be at peace, she felt a rush of energy and suddenly felt very mellow and relaxed. She described the feeling as if "a burden was lifted off my shoulders". She told us that she wanted to fall asleep right there because she was so mellow and at peace. We then began to teach Kevyn about the Holy Ghost and shared with her John 14:26-27. It was an incredibly spiritual experience with her.
I know that God is hastening his work. I know that the Priesthood is the power and authority to act in God's name. I know that the blessings of the Priesthood are conditional on our faith in the Savior Jesus Christ and upon principles of righteousness. I always want to be worthy and ready to act in the name of God when I am called upon to help my fellow man.
I know, as Sterling W. Sill knows, that, "The Lord wants each one of us to be a success. All we need to do is to find out the law governing that success and then go forward from there. And I would like to point out a great truth: That the most exciting experience is to have a high rating in that important enterprise in which God himself spends his entire time, the SALVATION OF MANKIND".
I love you all and am grateful for your support. Have a great week
-Elder Lambert
