Hey Mamma,
Whats up! Yup, I am gonna die off in the Cambria and Vineyard Wards in the Queen Creek North Stake. I love it here. I couldn't ask for a better place to finish. Elder Olkjer flew away to Alaska last Tuesday, may he rest in peace. My new comp is Elder Brewer from Salt Lake City Utah!!! Haha he went to East high school and graduated in 2014. He is baby! A youngin. He is like Celene Andersons age. Really weird. He is a stud though. He reminds me a lot of my first companion, Elder Glaus. They have a similar body type, mannerisms, and voice. It is weird. But I love it! We are doing work!
This week has been great. We have been teaching a lot of our recent converts and helping them towards the temple. We also have been trying to contact former investigators, less actives, and part member families to see who is ready to be taught and baptized. We want to use all of our resources to see who is ready and been prepared to be baptized.
We've had to have the "drop talk" with a couple of investigators because we realized that they just aren't progressing and we simply can't help them if they aren't willing to keep commitments. We can't focus our time and energy on somebody if they aren't willing to change.
Something incredible happened Sunday though. A mother and an adult daughter were sitting behind us in sacrament and I realized that I had not seen them before. After sacrament was over I introduced myself. There names were Cassy and Terra, and they were both originally from Mesa but hadn't been to church in a long time. Terra has 3 teenage kids, and it is clear that she had these kids at a very young age because she looked very young herself! Terra told us that she had just been feeling like she needed to attend church, and she wanted us to come over to meet her kids. We have an appointment set for tomorrow night and we can't wait! There is a 99.9% chance that Terra's kids are not baptized yet! This could be the family we have been praying for!
On Sunday night our mission had a new member fireside, and our converts Edwin and Kevyn were able to speak at it! It was awesome. They were such naturals. Kevyn was super funny! haha she got the whole congregation laughing. She has a great personality and she will be a great asset to the Lord's church.
Other highlights this week- We were able to play basketball with the Elders Quorum and a less active kid and a potential investigator kid. Elder Brewer and I also pros-balled against two kids on the street and beat em. One of the kids asked if I played basketball in high school. Haha.
Thank you for all of your love and support. I love being here and am doing all I can to make the days count. I love you!
