Johnny and Anthony Baptism, March 16, 2015

Hey Mamma,
Sounds like you had a busy and stressful week. And is Moldova in the Ukraine? Is dad heading there again?
This past week was awesome. Johnny Valdez and Anthony Coleman were both baptized on Saturday, and it was incredible. There was such great support from the ward and from family and friends. Elder Olkjer (my comp) baptized Johnny and had to baptize him four times because he wouldn't stay completely under the water! Haha. And Anthony's grandpa, Bro Coleman, baptized Anthony and hit Anthony's head on the back of the baptismal font! Hahah it was super scary. I thought Anthony was going to pass out and we would have to dive into the font to save him. But he ended up not being hurt! It was a crazy day.
And then yesterday I was able to confirm Johnny a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was honored. Johnny was so happy and joyful. Later that night, Johnny spoke at the New Member Fireside, which is a fireside our mission puts on once a month where recent converts share their conversion stories. Johnny gave an incredible talk on how the gospel has brought his life purpose and joy. It was awesome. I have never smiled more than from seeing a man that just a day prior was baptized and now he was sharing his story with others. he has such a desire to do good and to be good. I love Johnny and Anthony!
Zach Rivera was also at the fireside and it was good to catch up with him. Most of the Rittenhouse ward leadership and youth were at the fireside as well, and it was so good to see so many faces that had inspired me and made me feel at home. I love those people and am grateful for the relationships I have developed with them.
If there is one thing I know, it is that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings joy. Real, long-lasting joy. It is strange almost.
Lately I have had a lot of doubts and concerns on my mind. I have been wondering if this gospel really lasts. Yesterday God answered my prayers because I have never felt happier in my life. The joy I experienced yesterday was surreal. It was incredible! How could I not want this to be a part of my life? How could I deny something so pure, unique, and amazing?
I know that Jesus Christ lives and that sharing the gospel changes lives for the better. It has brought joy to my life and it has brought joy to other people's lives.
I love you guys! Remember that "...men are that they might have joy."
