Elder Barr, and Shandie and Kaylee are Back! Jan. 12, 2015

Hey Mamma and Family,

So the transfer news is....... I am staying! Woo Hoo! It is hard to believe, but this is my sixth transfer in the Pegasus and Orchard Ranch Ward area! Elder Corry became a big shot, an assistant to the president, for his last transfer. My new companion is Elder Furse from Hurricane, Utah. Elder Furse came out one transfer before me, and we were both born (aka started) in the same zone 18 months ago! He is a short, funny guy that is always positive and happy. It has been fun with him so far and we had a ton of teaching appointments last week!

This will probably be my last transfer in the area, so I am trying to work hard to finish it off strong here.

And yes, Elder Barr is in the mission now! Haha he is even in my zone now! His trainer and him white-washed into two wards that have been struggling in the zone. And on Saturday Elder Barr got to go on a power exchange with me when we had lunch with a part-member family. He has a strong testimony of how the gospel has brought light into his life. I am excited to continue to help him.

The highlights of this week are that we finally got in contact with and set up an appointment with Shandie and Kaylee, some investigators we haven't been able to teach for over 2 months! Shandie (the mom) told us that her husband (who is a violent drug-addict) was in jail now, and he was the only reason they couldn't meet with us. Apparently when their 8 year old son, Jesus, told the dad that he wanted to be baptized the dad got really mad and made them cut all ties with the LDS Church. But now since the dad is in jail we can meet again! Hurray! Haha I never thought I would be happy for a dad to be in jail, but this dad has caused a lot of harm to this family.

On Thursday we had a powerful lesson with Jeff, Tanya, and Tallon. Elder Furse did a great job at being very bold and we invited them to be baptized. We then left them with the invitation to sincerely read and pray about the Book of Mormon to know if it is true, with the intent that if God answers them they will be baptized. I love Jeff and Tanya, and I have to to learn to be more bold with the people I love and care about.

One of the coolest experiences this week though is that Zach Rivera, the 19 year old who I taught and baptized in my last area, is preparing to serve a mission!!!! Zach went to a semester of college at NAU but decided that God needed him to serve a mission. On Wednesday night he came out on visits with us and he did a great job of sharing his conversion story with the people we met. He is going to make an exceptional missionary. I love the kid and am excited to keep helping him prepare for the field.

thank you for all your love and support! I want to make these last few months count!

love,

Elder Lambert
