Edwin and Kevin, and Become a Creator of Circumstances, April 20, 2015

Hey Mamma,
Glad to hear that the lady you visit teach and her husband are still meeting with the missionaries. Have the missionaries set a baptismal date for the husband yet? And are you enjoying attending the lessons?
Utah weather sounds as bipolar as usual. And down here in Arizona it actually has been really nice. It has been heating up a little bit, but nothing too bad yet.
This past week we have had many great experiences. Last P-day we had an AWESOME activity, we went to Schnepf farms (a local farm in Queen Creek) and rode on their roller coaster and played mini golf! It was sweet. The Schnepfs are a member family in Elder Olkjer's past area and they gave us the hook ups! It was great. We had the whole farm/park all to ourselves.
This week we unfortunately were unable to teach Steffen. :( We stopped by and his wife told us that they were not interested. Of course, I am persistent and don't give up that easily, so I did all I could to keep the conversation going with her. Haha it was funny because she told us that she had her beliefs and her church, and when I asked her which Christian church she attends, she responded and said, "Well we actually haven't found one yet. We don't go to one right now". And then I asked if she had had bad experiences with Mormon people in the past and she told us, "No, I have had some great Mormon neighbors and a lot of my friends growing up were Mormon. They were always kind and happy". How could you not be interested in associating yourself with other good, kind, and happy people?!? Haha people have the darnedest excuses.
But anywho. One of the greatest miracles this week is we had a direct answer to our prayers. Elder Olkjer and I have been praying to teach a humble, ready-to-learn family in the Vineyard Ward because we haven't had as much teaching opportunites in that ward. This past week a non-member family moved in next door to a member family and the first thing they asked their member neighbors was, "Do you know any good Christian churches we could attend?" So last week they came to church and yesterday they came to church for all three hours! On Saturday night Elder Olkjer and I stopped by to remind them of church, and they were very excited to see us and told us that their kids had been asking about church all week! We gave them both Book of Mormons and they were very willing to read! Woo Hoo! This family is golden. It is so exciting to see that when we exercise faith in the Lord Jesus Christ all things are possible. This family was sent here to be taught and hear the Restored Gospel. I am excited to see them progress! By the way, the parents name's are Edwin and Kevin (yes, that's right, the wife's name is Kevin. Pretty weird haha). But I love em!
I was also this week able to go on exchanges with two missionary companionships in our zone. On Thursday Elder Bailey came with me to my area and we did work. Elder Bailey came out on the mission with me, and he goes home in three weeks. It was awesome to see how much we have both grown in these two years. We had an incredible day.
One of the greatest aspects of missionary work that I have come to love is the ability to make something happen out of nothing. The ability to become a CREATOR of circumstances instead of a creature of circumstances is truly amazing. During my exchange with Elder Bailey, we didn't have any set appointments during the morning and afternoon, but that didn't stop us from getting outside and working! We were able to teach quite a bit that day, and it was amazing to see the Lord guide us to people that we needed to meet.
I know God wants us to become great people and he wants us to overcome our circumstances and make something of our life. I know my faith in Jesus Christ has provided my life with more power and joy than any other decision or action.
I love you guys!

-Elder Lambert
