Momma! Es Familia!!

Yes, I have received all of your emails. Don't sweat it. Glad to hear everything is going well. My P day is on Friday (today), so that's when I get to email.

Yup, I got the letter from Chloe Murphy, but not a letter from Jake Ostler. though Jake did send me an email.
And yup, I leave on Tuesday, June 18th. I think our flight leaves at about 8 in the morning, so I'll probably get to call you around 7 am or something. If any of you are awake. So wake up!!! Haha. Our flight should only take about 45 minutes to an hour to get there though. I bought a phone card so I'll get to call you. I probably won't talk for too long, cause i don't got much to say. Except that I love it here and I'm excited to get out there!!!

Sounds like the Noelle is partying it up. Keep her busy. And that sounds pretty boss for Connor and Melinda. I hope they choose where they are gonna go!! And hey, if you could send me their wedding anouncement in the mail that would be awesome. I'd love to see it.

Momma, i'm glad you are bonding with Traci haha. She is a fantastic lady. And no, i don't mind if you forward my emails to Lauren. I got a letter from her so i'm gonna write her back today.

And that's sweet that I made it in the papes!!! That means I'm famous. You can get whatever you want if you're in the papes. ;) And yeah I saw Elder Chase Player and he said that he got to see Rachel for just a second. Pretty cool deal.
But anywho. Missionary Work. The MTC. My whole view of the Gospel has changed so much in the last week. I have the COOLEST teachers, who are just spiritual giants and teach us our true purpose, which is to become Disciples of Jesus Christ and help all of God's children to become Disciples of Jesus Christ. I have this sweet red- head teacher named Bro Elton who pretty much brought the smack down on us. We are not here to baptize people, to bring people happiness, or to convert more Mormons. We don't need more Mormons. We need more Disciples of Jesus Christ. Bro Elton helped us realize that our only purpose is to love the people and help them develop a personal relationship with God. Everything we do in the Church is because we love God and want to follow him and become like Him. Everything. When people experience God's love for them personally, they then begin on their path towards becoming God's heirs.

My view of the scriptures has changed completely. We should not being reading the scriptures just for the cool stories, the cool quotes, or cause we have to. We read the scriptures to get to God. The scriptures are the word of God. God LITERALLY speaks to us in them. Every time we read the scriptures we should ask, "What is God trying to tell me today? How is he answering me?"

I've had the opportunity to bless two people in my district. That was a frikin super amazing experience. I knew that I didn't give the blessings, God did. I was simply a mouthpiece for what God needed to say to His children.

I have grown so much. I also have learned that I am not the teacher, God is. The Holy Ghost does the conversion process within the heart and mind of the investigator, not us.
Teaching is fun. We teach (really, the Holy Ghost teaches) what we call "Progressive Investigators", which are some of our teachers that role-play an investigator that they met on their mission or something. It really feels like they are not acting at all. It is so real. I have learned so much from it.
I better go. Love you all. This is Christ's true church. This is His Gospel.

Love, Elder Lambert

p.s. also, if you could send my hymn book (bottom of my night stand), my quote book (has temples on the covers, and on top of my night stand), and some kind of acne face wash that I could use, that would be awesome. My acne sucks here, but that's ok. This isn't about me. xoxo
