Smoking is Disgusting! Sept. 16, 2013

Mamma Mia!!! And family,

Yes, I have been taking pictures with my camera. But these computers only allow us to send one picture per email. It is kind of annoying. But I will try to send one every week. And my week was good! I study pretty much every day from the Book of Mormon and the New Testament. I like to study by topic though. My understanding of the scriptures has increased so much while I've been out here.

This week has been good but a little bit frustrating. What it all comes down to is............. SMOKING IS DISGUSTING AND THE WORST HABIT EVER!!!! Haha sorry I had to get that off my chest. I would say 85% of our investigators struggle with smoking. It is terrible. I am so sick of the smell of smoke. Thank heavens that I have never smoked a cigarette. And thank you Mom and Dad for never smoking either. It is nasty stuff.

But, in good news, we are teaching this lady Christine who has been living with her grandmother in the ward for a couple of months now. Christine attends church every week with her grandmother who is a member. She is in her late 20s or early 30s and she is excellent!!!! She has such a humble heart and she greatly wants to develop a better relationship with her Heavenly Father. Last night we had a lesson with her about the Word of Wisdom and it went awesome!!! She smokes 3 cigarettes a day, but she knew she needed to quit and therefore took all of her cigarettes, ash trays, cigarette buds, and lighters and threw them away. Woo hoo!!! It was super exciting. She is also the first investigator who we have asked to throw away her temptations that has actually done it. Yes!!! I love seeing people improve and change for the better. She is making the right steps to follow her Savior, Jesus Christ.

The work is still incredible in Florence. The last 2 days we've met some really humble people and invited them to read the Book of Mormon. There is so much strength and warmth that comes when bearing testimony of the Book of Mormon and of the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I love it. Every time I bear my testimony of the truthfulness of this Gospel, I more and more know it to be true. I love Florence a ton.

Me and Elder Bailey are doing great. He knows Ju Jitzu (?) and so he has been teaching me some moves during our work out time in the morning. I've always wanted to learn how to better defend myself, so I thought I should take advantage of this. Last P-day all of the missionaries in our district wrestled, it was way fun.

I'm glad to hear that things are going well and that Connor took his test and such. I love you guys. And oh, im glad you had the missionaries over? What were their names?!? Is it still the red head and Elder Taka from Tonga?

Until next week,

love, Elder Lambert
