General Conference Weekend, Oct. 7, 2013

Hey Mamma!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! 26th Anniversary huh? Congrats!!! Dad better treat you well and buy you some flowers or some chocolate or things that women like. And that is cool to hear about the changes around the house and that the fam all got together to watch conference. Sweetness!!!
So the news is in. Last week I WAS transferred, and I am now white-washing a new area and training a new missionary. White washing is where they take 2 elders into a new area that neither of them have been in yet. Our first day in the area was crazy cause we didn't even know how to get anywhere!!! Haha but it has been a lot of fun and a lot of work. I've enjoyed white washing because it really puts you out of your comfort zone and makes you work twice as hard to succeed. It is these experiences where you determine the kind of missionary you will be. We cover 2 wards now, one of which is SUPER TINY (geographically compared to Florence)! The whole ward is comprised of 5 roads haha. But we have been working our tail off to meet everyone in the wards. and the real bummer about these wards is that they have absolutely ZERO investigators! Oh my goodness it is crazy.
My second son, Elder Aaron Otto Smith, is from American Fork UT and Beaverton, Oregon. He's a good kid, and he looks a lot like the boy from the movie August Rush. Hahaha he has the goofiest sense of humor and his singing voice sounds like a dying whale. It is beautiful. It has been pretty fun teaching him and what not.
But conference. I have never been so awed by conference. Wow. Pretty much every flaw I've seen in the people of The Church of Jesus Christ was addressed. It was amazing. I loved Gerald Causse's talk during Priesthood session about how the men of the wards need to welcome EVERYONE that enters the building. These are Christ's churches, not ours. It is so important that people feel welcomed in at all times. I also loved S. Gifford Nielsen's talk about missionary work. We have got to work together now, the work of salvation must move forward! And oh, Edward Dube's talk was the bomb! He is my favorite now. For real.
All in all, I am always learning. I am relying on the Lord more and more each day. I can't do this alone. We need his help.
Family, I invite you to help the missionaries in your area. Pray to know with whom you can share the Gospel with. This is Christ's work. I promise that names and faces will come into your minds and that opportunities will present themselves. It's time to get going!
I love you all. Thank you for your love and support.
love, Elder Lambert

p.s. yeah if you could just send my stuff to the mission home, that would be great. And I would LOVE some CD's. Thank you! And that is very nice of the Andersons! tell them thanks! and oh, my new address is 11519 East Persimmion Avenue, Mesa, AZ. I don't know the zip code though.  xoxo and the photo is: Elder Sergeant (my grandson), Elder Bailey (my first son), me, and Elder Smith (my second son).
