Excuses Are Like Armpits, August 12, 2013
Momma,
I am fantastic. Don't you worry. And yes, I eat breakfast every day haha. I usually toast 2 bagels with cream cheese and peanut butter. And I have oatmeal as well. It's pretty easy to survive in the states. I feel spoiled sometimes compared to missionaries in foreign countries. And that's weird that we have 3 Ukrainian men living at our house. What are their names?
But this last week was pretty good. It has been a little frustrating though because people simply don't understand why attending church every Sunday is so important. We have some excellent investigators, but no matter how many times we drill into their heads the importance of church, they NEVER GO. I have decided that for the rest of my life that I will never make excuses like "i'm too tired" or "I'm too busy". As a wise man once said, excuses are like armpits- everyone has them and they stink. :)
But this last week we did have two investigators decide to be baptized on August 31st. So we are excited about that. Especially this mother named Anna, she is the nicest lady and she wants to be sealed to her husband and kids in a year after she is baptized. She has an amazing testimony of temples and how they brought peace and warmth to her life. She especially loves the Salt Lake Temple. And she has 3 kids that are hilarious and darned cute. I love em.
Exchanges are next Tuesday, the 20th I believe, so I might be transferred. But they are splitting Florence 1st and Florence 2nd Wards (the wards we cover), so I might stay in one of those wards and get a new companion. Elder Glaus is a boss, I'm gonna miss him. He really has taught me a lot. I go on exchanges every Friday night because Glaus is the District Leader so he is supposed to go on exchanges with every missionary in our district. So after being with other elders and seeing how they do missionary work, I really am blessed to have Elder Glaus as my trainer. He works harder than almost all the other missionaries I've been on exchanges with. He's a good guy.
Random news- my facial hair has been growing ridiculously fast during my two months in Arizona. I have to shave every other day. When I return home in two years, you better believe that I'm gonna grow a beard!!! Hahaha I hope I can grow a sweet one like dad.
Speaking of dad, I'm glad to hear things are looking up at the Law firm. And hey if you see missionaries, please be kind to them in any way you can. Even if you just offer them some water, they would appreciate it. And dad, can you send me your email address so I can just email you? That would be excellent if you could.
Anywho, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is amazing. I'm doing my best out here and I'm learning something new every day. I love you guys. Study your scriptures, pray, and attend church!!! Those simple things truly bring happiness.
With love,
Elder Lambert
