A Golden Couple and 2 Baptisms, September 2, 2013

Familia!!!

Hey I will have to cut this letter a little short because it is Labor Day and the library is closed, so we've been running around trying to find a member's house to email at. I love you guys!! I'm so happy that Noelle cleaned her bathroom! Woo Hoo! And she's going to prom and shopping for dresses!! That's what I like to hear! Atta girl!!! And she is gonna be in Special Needs Mutual?!? Yes!!! Look for my buddy Nathan!! say hi to him for me!! I miss him. He's my homie.

This last week has been great. We got this GOLDEN couple that referred themselves to meet with the missionaries. They have been struggling financially, emotionally, and spiritually, and they know that if they put God first in their lives everything else will fall into place. We have taught them twice, and they are committed to be baptized in about 3 weeks. They are so humble, awesome, and ready. I love when the Lord provides for us when we do all we can to be worthy representatives of Jesus Christ.

On Saturday we had two baptisms, Anna (a mother) and Onynex (13 year old black kid). It was way spiritual and fun. They had both worked so hard to be there, and it was cool cause my Papa Elder Glaus got to come and be a part of the program too. Baptism is the gateway to heaven, it is the only way in which we can return to live with our Heavenly Father again.

On Friday night Elder Bailey and I got to conduct family home evenings for Part Member families, which was fun. Elder Bailey plays the uke so we practiced and performed for them the song "How Can I Be" (look it up!). The Spirit brought so much peace when we played this song. It was pretty sweet.

Elder Bailey is a really good guy. Very athletic, very goal oriented, and funny. We get along great. He has a lot of stuff, and is a little messy, but I am OCD when it comes to cleanliness haha. I don't mind too much. We are getting our teaching flow down pretty well. He does an incredible black man voice. I'm jealous.

We get about an hour and a half to email. Yeah, a lot of people email me so sometimes it is pretty stressful to write everyone back haha. But I do my best.

I gotta go. I love you guys. The Gospel is all about progression. No struggle, No progress. Put God first and everything will work out and fall into place.

much love,

Elder Lambert

p.s. Dad, the most important thing I've learned about missionary work is listening. Listening to the people and loving them really is the key to success here. I never force or debate, I enjoy seeing both sides. I love it out here! And I love you Dad!
